Document production and print projects
I am experienced in the production of documentation, user guides and training materials. Using a variety of software tools, including MS Word and InDesign, I am regularly called upon by businesses and agencies to take care of large and small volume document formatting. I am able to use Word to create professional, print quality documents.

Kineo Open Source - Moodle User Guide
I was asked by Kineo Open Source, a Brighton-based e-learning company, to devise and deliver one-day training sessions for Moodle Administrators and Course Creators. As part of this, I wrote, designed and typeset a 65 page manual to support delegates after the training.
The User Guide is available for free download from the KOS website and forms part of the company's community engagement activity.

I was asked by Kineo, a Brighton-based e-learning company, to prepare some branded materials to be distributed in hard copy at a trade fair. The design was supplied by a graphic artist and I used MS Word to create the documents. I supplied the client with high-resolution PDFs, suitable for going straight to press, and made the Word files available to them for future modifications.

City & Guilds - in-house document production system
I was full time at City & Guilds for four years. Initially employed as a copy editor, I found myself in a position to challenge and improve in-house document production and reduce the cost of typesetting by empowering colleagues to make their own high quality documents. Between 2005 and 2007, I developed and maintained a suite of robust and userfriendly templates and macro-based productivity tools, training more than 300 people to use it. I also set up systems to support users and communicate with them. We subjected the system to continual improvement thanks to regular feedback from internal departments and document endusers.

Kineo Rapid Guides
In 2006, I was approached by Kineo to create the downloadable PDF document products for their online e-learning knowledge store. This project began with templating according to a supplied structure and design, colour matching headings and creating table layouts for contents. Once the content was written, I formatted it into the 27 documents which they have available to buy. I also created a number of diagrams. Finally, I converted the documents into print quality PDFs and locked them to prevent the extraction of the contents.
